I’m still thinking about what an amazing day we had yesterday in Lincoln Heights. It truly was one of those incredible days where you sit back at the end of it and marvel at what God has done. Everywhere you looked yesterday, you could see God working. First of all, who ever would have dreamed we could have such a beautiful day in late October! Who would have thought that many children would come out with their families? Who would have thought an event so large could run so well?
God was doing something powerful yesterday. We started the day with a short time centering ourselves on what God was asking us to accomplish and then we spent time praying over the staff of Daybreak, the community of Lincoln Heights and the day to come. It was during that time that I started to get the sense that we were in for a pretty intense day. It was awesome to hear the passion in our student’s voices as they lifted Lincoln Heights to Jesus. From there, the day continued to unfold in some of the most beautiful and unexpected ways.
I loved seeing our students serve. Honestly, I didn’t see one person hold back, sit it out or give less than their all to those kids. It was awesome. Everybody had a great time. The Gospel was shared clearly and we all left feeling like we had gotten to be a part of something amazing. I’m still filled with joy over what God did yesterday.
Whether you were there yesterday or not, you need to make plans to join us the next time we go to Lincoln Heights on Saturday, November 20th. We’re going to distribute Thanksgiving meals through our Turkey Outreach. It’s going to be great and you want to be there!
Thank you, Jesus, for such an amazing day yesterday!
