Matt’s Surgery Is Tomorrow

Tomorrow’s a big day for our friend Matt.  After two months of vocal rest, doctors have determined that Matt Walkley does need to have surgery to remove the polyp on his vocal cords.  That surgery is going to be happening tomorrow morning, December 1st.  I know it would mean a lot to Matt to go into that feeling your prayers.  I’m asking God to work through the doctors, to guide their hands, to give them focus and enable them to do their job tomorrow with excellence.  I’m praying for no complications.  I’m praying the Lord will bless Matt with a speedy recovery, protect his voice and return him to leading us all in worship by the beginning of the new year.

After the surgery, Matt is going to be unable to speak at all for at least a week.  Wow.  That’s an interesting thought, isn’t it?  I told Matt last night I’m not even sure how to pray for that!  As unusual as that time will be, I’m praying God uses it to pour much into Matt’s heart and fill Him with songs for the church, desire for Christ and a sense of joy in the midst of this trial.

Just wanted you to be able to join me and many others in praying for Matt tomorrow.
