Paul’s words in 1 Thessalonians are a perfect summary of everything that’s in my heart this afternoon. When I think about the amazing group of people God has knit together to form The Gathering, it fills me with an incredible joy.

I think about a staff that has more fun together and works harder than almost any other group I know. I think about a team of coaches and small group leaders who pour hours of their weeks into the collegiate generation. But most of all, I think about the students that this has been about from the beginning. I think about the stories, hopes, dreams and struggles you’ve been willing to share over the years. I think about the things you’ve done to make the name of Jesus famous on your campuses. I think about the corners of the world you’ve gone to bringing hope and the message of a cross.

And all of it fills me with joy and gratitude to God that He lets me be a part of it.
